An Apology to Obama

Santa Monica Shooting

Hey there, Mr. Obama.

How’s it going?  Hope you had a good time in Santa Monica.  What a crazy place to be the day you were here!  First, a fire. Then some bus gets shot up. Then a full-on campus shooting (did you hear he had 1300 rounds of ammunition?).  Wild!  And all just down the road from where you were.  Me too!

I’m glad to hear it didn’t affect your schedule, though.  I mean, I know I get pissed off when I’m in a hurry somewhere and there’s, like, massive traffic on the 405.  Are you bummed because you couldn’t take your helicopter to the airport?  I bet that’s always more fun than a boring motorcade.

So anyway, I was kind of wondering how come you didn’t say something about what happened.  It would have been kind of cool if you’d maybe said at least something.  Kind of like you did after the other shootings.  But I get it.  What are you going to say?  I mean, it’s not like you can say you’re going to do something about gun control, make some new legislation, all that jazz.  I get it.  It’s hard to make the same speech over and over and nothing changes.  And hey, it’s not like Mayor Villaraigosa said anything either, or mayor-elect Eric Garcetti, or Bill Clinton.  But at least you guys had a good time at your fundraiser.

So yeah, sorry about what happened. I would have apologized sooner but I’ve been a bit distracted by everything. You know how it is when there’s a school shooting just down the road. It’s not cool.  But at least you got to go to Palm Springs.

Take care,

Mischa

Did he write you back yet? When I was in elementary school our class wrote letters to the president. Let’s see … in the fifth grade, I was about 10 years old, that would have been 1988 and I have no clue who our president was, but I can tell you with 99% certainty he was male and that he did not write back.
